About Us
Co-founders Abrahm Coury and Bailey Ethier met as classmates and quickly became friends, bonding over busy schedules filled with classes, work, and the constant stream of social and professional events that so often revolve around alcohol. Like many young professionals, they loved the social side of it, but started noticing the same pattern over and over again: even moderate nights out were costing them the next day in the form of fatigue, brain fog, and lost productivity. That shared frustration set the foundation.While traveling through Asia, they were exposed to a very different way of thinking about alcohol and wellness. Rather than treating drinking as something you recover from the next morning, many cultures approach it proactively. Wellness products and rituals built around ingredients like turmeric and herbal extracts are commonly used before social drinking, with the goal of protecting the body ahead of time. What stood out wasn’t just the ingredients, but how normal and intentional the approach was. Preparation was part of the experience.
That perspective stuck.
Back in the US, Abrahm and Bailey began digging into the science behind what they had seen abroad. As young professionals and MBA students, they researched clinical and preclinical studies on turmeric, curcumin, and related compounds and found a growing body of evidence supporting their role in oxidative defense and alcohol related inflammation. Yet most products available domestically were still reactive, unfamiliar, or disconnected from how people actually socialize.
ShieldShot was born from that gap.
At its core, ShieldShot reflects a belief that wellness should fit seamlessly into real life. Social connection matters. Performance matters.
